The desktop application can check its owner's designated intake folder and support processing of selected sources. The proposed Google connection uses read-only access; it does not edit, move, share or delete Drive originals.
Google's read-only permission applies across the authorized account. Limiting the application's folder queries does not narrow that underlying permission. The owner reviews the requested access on Google's consent screen.
